History

Dr. Woody Oakes is a nationally renowned dentist who has been in private practice since 1974.  He built one of the largest and most successful practices in Indiana... a practice that was written up and studied by several dental publications.

In 1996, he shifted his focus to dental education via the "Excellence in Dentistry" company and nationwide lecture series.

Plaza Dental was founded in 2006 both as a teaching facility and a limited private practice.  The name comes from the famous Plaza Hotel (which recently closed) in New York, NY.  Plaza set the standard for excellence and thus the name "Plaza Dental."

Dr. Oakes foresaw the need for qualified dental assistants, but realized most of the dental assisting schools were either too expensive or required too much time.

Plaza Dental offers an intense, 10 "Saturdays Only" program whereby motivated students can receive excellent training in a short period of time... and get an excellent, well paying job.
